# Munsiyari — Gateway to the Johar Valley Munsiyari (2,298 m) in Pithoragarh district is one of Uttarakhand's finest hill destinations, combining spectacular mountain scenery with cultural depth and exceptional trekking access. The town's signature view — the Panchachuli massif's five snow-covered peaks — is one of the great Himalayan panoramas, particularly at dawn when peaks turn crimson and gold. Munsiyari is the gateway to the historic Johar valley, used for centuries as a trading route to Tibet by the Shauka (Bhotiya) community.
