**tldr;** for a good time: no phones, no talking, give folks space
:::
A safe and respectful community is everyone’s responsibility. We encourage you to make friends and look out for each other. If you see someone who might be not be having a good time; or is preventing others from having a good time you are empowered to act. If you need an organzer to support you feel free to tap one of them on the shoulder and point them in the right direction.
We appreciate if you read and adhere to the principles laid out below. Have fun and dance like no one is watching!
### No Lights No Lyrca:
* is a place for people to come and dance freely in a friendly, non-threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere
* is an inclusive event, open to all ages, genders, backgrounds and demographics — no harrassment or unwanted attention will be tolerated
* is a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun — be safe and consider stretching beforehand
* is an event that occurs in a dimly lit room — be aware of your own body and be respectful of others' space
* is a time to dance independently in the company of others — in order for people to truly lose themselves in the music it is important to keep talking to a minimum.
* is not about technique and being a ‘good’ dancer, it’s about the experience of dancing with no one watching and the joy that this brings — please do not use your phone on or around the dancefloor
